Space Between…

A quiet landscape where volcanic terrain disappears into layers of mist and light.

This photograph explores the space between presence and absence, where details dissolve and the landscape becomes almost abstract. The soft atmosphere creates a sense of stillness, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect. Layers of fog drift across the mountainside, partially revealing a hidden crater lake and creating a fence of mystery, distance and stillness.

Created through layered textures and intuitive gestures, these paintings emerge from a fascination with what lies beneath the visible surface: the emotions we carry, the fractures we repair and the silent processes of becoming.

Within every fracture, the possibility of healing.

They remind us that not everything needs to be seen to be felt.

The mist does not hide the landscape. It changes the way we see it.

And sometimes that is enough to reveal something deeper.

BEHIND THE IMAGE

This photograph was taken in a volcanic region where the landscape is constantly shaped by forces hidden beneath the surface.

As mist moved slowly across the active crater, the scenery seemed to disappear and reappear with every passing moment. Nothing felt fixed. The mountains, the lake and the sky blended into one another, suspended somewhere between presence and absence.

Standing there, I was reminded that nature rarely reveals everything at once.

Sometimes the most powerful landscapes are the ones that invite us to slow down, wait and simply observe.

ABOUT THE PLACE

Volcanic landscapes are places of constant transformation.

What appears still on the surface often conceals immense energy beneath. Steam, gases and mineral-rich waters are reminders that the Earth is alive, breathing and continuously reshaping itself.

Mist Above was created in one of those rare moments when power and silence seemed to coexist.
